2014-08-19  Russian Ministry of Foreign affairs declared about some progress regarding Ukraine
The ministers of foreign affairs from Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine held a meeting regarding the situation in the Eastern part of Ukraine. According to the Russian Ministry of Foreign affairs, the ministers achieved some progress in the negotiations.

“The ministers reviewed all aspects of the current situation, paying special attention to the cease-fire, border control, humanitarian aid delivery to Southeastern Ukraine and creating the conditions for the peaceful settlement of the conflict” as reported on the official Ministry Facebook page.

“Some progress was made on all these issues. It was agreed to continue the dialogue in the same format, whereupon specific proposals can be submitted to the leaders of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine for consideration”.

We would remind you that, the negotiations were held in Berlin on August 17. The meeting lasted about 5 hours.

According to the German Federal Foreign minister, Frank Walter Steinmeier, the discussions were tough, although the parties managed to reach some compromise.
The previous meeting took place in Berlin on August 2. It was confirmed to adhere to the peace and stability in Ukraine. The ministers emphasized that it was necessary to conclude a truce, which should be followed by all the parties.
